Sushi Wakon is the vision of Master Chef Rei Masuda, offering an intimate dining experience where diners are encouraged to interact and watch as our master chefs create each stunning dish.
Guests look on as our team of masterfully trained sushi chefs draw from their decades of experience to create each exquisite dish. Their movements are expert and exact, creating a process that is an elegant culinary meditation.
The world’s best quality ingredients are sourced and flown each day to our restaurant in Kyoto from Tokyo’s iconic Tsukiji market.
Our menu uses seasonal produce and is inspired by the fresh produce offered from Tsukiji Fish Market each day. We can also create bespoke menus based on the personal tastes of our guests.
To be enjoyed alongside our sushi, is our sake and wine menu. The selection and quality of our sake and wine menu is unrivaled, and has been carefully curated to compliment the sushi dishes.
Every detail and feature of our exclusive dining room was created by respected artisans and is a reflection of the understated beauty and elegance of Japan. The centerpiece is the eight-metre long sushi counter made from a single piece of Japanese cypress, handcrafted by one of Japan’s greatest craftsmen.
Each metal tile of the wall behind the sushi counter is hand made, and celebrates the Japanese culture of Origami and Kumiko.
Artworks by some of the regions most respected and well-known artists, as well as up and coming artists, are showcased in the dining rooms, and will change regularly in partnership with these artists.
